“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; to see they power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Because thy loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips when I meditate on thee in the night watches.”
“Oh God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me, they who seek my life will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth.” – Psalm 63
“I hold on to you for dear life, and you hold me steady as a post.” – the Message
My prayer: Father, God, my soul truly does seek You in this dry and thirsty land. My soul yearns for fulfillment, my flesh longs for You—for completeness, wholeness, satisfaction…why do I wander to other sources when only You can fill my emptiness, my loneliness?
If only my lips would bless you – I lift up my hands and heart to you now, and then will my soul be satisfied! I need to look no further for some one/something to fill that hole.
