“SOLD” sign

RE:      SOLD SIGN

How do I spell relief? Seeing a “Sold” sign in front of my mother-in-law’s house where she has lived for over 40 years. It’s a type of bittersweet feeling. On one hand, she’s leaving the known, the comfortable. And on the other hand, she will be traveling to an unknown location with anticipation of a brand-new chapter in her life.

Gwen says she feels “very confident about the move and apprehensive too…a whole new life ahead.”  The journey has been overwhelming to go through, but she knows this is where God wants her to be at this point in her life.

Prayers have gone up for the sale of the house and finding another home to live. God is faithful and provided both. Thank you for your prayers and thank God for answers to our prayers. Let the adventures begin!

Yay! I’m thrilled for her. I so wish I could be there and help out with the process. Thanks for all your work. It’s been like a full time job for you! I’m so sad though, that’s a huge piece of Lasher history. I wish I was there to say ‘goodbye’ to the house. New adventures are fabulous, but they also involve some loss. It makes it a thousand times easier that Mom is ready and excited for the next phase!!

    • It is truly thrilling and tiring and exciting all at the same time! When I think of the packing process, I still see you packing, hauling, lugging, sweating at the Prairie house and VERY PREGNANT! Girl, I don’t know how you did it, but with many hands, all was accomplished in His timing.

I still look back at our Bird house with fond memories…part of me longs to still be there and the other part is so thankful for the newness and simplicity of where we live now. That’s where the memories come into play–we have those to ponder.

Yes, it makes it SO WONDERFUL that Mother is ready and excited – a 1,000 times better than someone dragging their feet and emotions.
