Let’s think about what scripture say about beauty. I read in Psalm 139, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Ahhhhh…..poetry to my aching ears. God says I’m fearfully and wonderfully made — even my chunky legs and big nose? What a revelation! Who am I to question his handiwork? How can I complain about my looks when the Creator fashioned me according to his great plan and purpose?
It helps to know my peculiar parts make me unique — unlike any other human being on earth. I need to trust God that he knew what he was doing when my “frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.”
Are there parts of your body you don’t particularly adore? I know I have a few and I’m certain we all do. Can you look beyond the physical and be thankful for a loving spirit and sound mind instead?
