While driving in the car today, a song caught my attention. The song is called, “Jesus, Take the Wheel.” I believe it caught my interest because I was mulling over in my mind all the things I needed to do that day, events from the previous day, what I did wrong and what I did right. Granted, I should have been paying more attention to the road in front of me!
The words so closely represented my heart feelings that even later today, I ponder them, “Jesus, take the wheel – take it from my hands, ‘cause I can’t do this on my own. I’m letting go, so give me one more chance, save me from this road I’m on, Jesus take the wheel.”
How often I go about my merry way and take care of business in my own strength. Then I wonder why I’m so tired at the end of the day and things get messed up. God wants to share my heavy load, and longs for me to ask him to lead the way.
Lord, forgive me for trying to work in my own strength and not relying on you for my power source. Give me one more chance to prove that I am your child. I sincerely desire the peace that only you can give.
