My friend Cynthia shared this beautiful prayer practice. I thought of ten things occupying my mind in (of all places) the shower this morning. So I clenched my fist and named my concerns one by one. Then I opened both hands and surrendered all 10 to the Lord. You see, it matters not where or when negative thoughts bombard your brain…it matters only that you give them all back to our Maker-Creator.
Kindness Revival/sent from Lisa Walkendorf who continues to teach me to pray:
Start with two clenched fists and count on your fingers ten things occupying your mind, opening one finger for each occupation.
One, that pressing deadline, two your hard morning conversation. Three, preparing for a trip, four, five, six, that end of month decision, seven, your longing for a friend, eight, nine, ten, all the things you feel you don’t have words for yet.
Now you have two open hands ready to receive something. Will you let God nurture you in all the ways you most long for?
(prayer by Emily P Freeman)
What 10 things occupy your mind today? Makes a difference who you allow in your thoughts…here F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely On God) seeks to help.
Can you close your hands, recite each one by one, and then open those hands freely upward?
Message me and let me know your results.
